What strikes the visitor is above all the feeling of slipping into the past: walking along the small streets, characterized by arches, steep stairs and narrow shortcuts, creeping through the houses leaning irregularly against each other, is like going back a few centuries, when only the coalmen and their families lived here for four months, and the rest of the year Bondone remained silent and abandoned, waiting for their return.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Do not miss&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1521153098573-ceadd3bb-4824&#8243;][vc_column_text]The inhabitants of Bondone were a devout people, as the <strong>frescoes<\/strong> &#8211; expression of popular art &#8211; that can be admired on the fa\u00e7ades of the houses tell us.<\/p>\n<p>Visiting this Borgo is like entering a labyrinth of paved streets, with the walls and houses telling its story, leading the visitor magically to the <strong>Church<\/strong>, <strong>dedicated to the Nativity of Mary<\/strong>, on which churchyard you can enjoy a splendid view of the valley. The church has three naves, each housing an altar.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as you arrive to the Borgo you can not help but notice, on the fa\u00e7ade of the <strong>house in Via Giusti 24<\/strong>, the fresco dating back to the sixteenth century and depicting the Madonna in Trono breastfeeding Baby Jesus. There are also <strong>satirical images<\/strong>, such as the one dated 1672 in Via Baroni 13. The painting represents the coronation of the Virgin, a King who offers money to Death in exchange for life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Castel San Giovanni<\/strong> was presumably built on a pre-existing Roman structure and has always been owned by the Counts of Lodron, a family whose origins date back to the year 1000. It is from Castel San Giovanni, looking more like a military fortress rather than a noble residence, that the Londron\u2019s ruled from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century. The castle was then abandoned two centuries ago. It was accessed through a drawbridge and enjoys a magnificent position overlooking the entire valley. The restorations carried out by the Municipality have brought the Castle back to its ancient splendour, enhanced by the extraordinary position it enjoys, perched on a rocky spur.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Typical products and Events&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1480496820077-2b27c1ff-e93b&#8221;][vc_column_text]\u201cBondone in strada\u201d is an event that takes place in the second weekend of August, a two-day international street artists festival around the arcades and squares of the Borgo. Il Mercatino dell\u2019artigianato \u00e8 reso possibile grazie all\u2019impegno della Societ\u00e0 Operaia di Mutuo Soccorso.<\/p>\n<p>Cavalcata dell\u2019Assunta<br \/>\nLa Cavalcata dell\u2019Assunta \u00e8 la rievocazione storica pi\u00f9 antica d\u2019Italia. Un documento, infatti, attesta che gi\u00e0 nel 1182 i castelli assoggettati a Fermo si impegnavano a portare un \u201cpalio bellum et bonum\u201d proprio in occasione del 15 Agosto, giorno della Festa dell\u2019Assunta.<br \/>\nIl documento pi\u00f9 importante che testimonia l\u2019evento della Cavalcata \u00e8 il Missale De Firmonibus, pagina miniata del 1436 eseguita da Giovanni di maestro Ugolino da Milano che ripropone dettagliatamente il corteo storico.<br \/>\nLa mattina del 15 Agosto era prevista la Corsa del Palio, che oggi invece si svolge di pomeriggio e che \u00e8 motivo di contesa delle 10 contrade, tra cui figura appunto Torre di Palme. Durante il periodo della Cavalcata pertanto il Borgo di Torre di Palme fa da sfondo a sfilate del corteo storico, alle cene di Contrada o alla cerimonia della Lettura del bando.<br \/>\nOgni estate Torre di Palme si arricchisce di eventi che spaziano da festival musicali, mostre d\u2019arte, rassegne ed incontri culturali che accolgono il turista in modo cordiale e vivace e si moltiplicano per valorizzare ancor pi\u00f9 la naturale accoglienza del borgo.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Il piatto del Borgo&#8221;
