Lo spirito del luogo

The name Limone is not thought to derive from the fruit, but from ancient toponymic interpretations: according to one tradition, from “limen”, meaning a border between the Brescia and Trentino areas; according to more recent studies, from “limo/lemos”, meaning elm tree.

Limonaia del Castèl
An ancient terraced lemon house in the heart of the village, with stone pillars, historic citrus trees and spectacular views over the lake. It tells the story of Limone’s agricultural soul.

Historic Centre
A charming maze of narrow streets, stairways, small squares and houses overlooking the lake. Walking through the historic centre means discovering the most authentic identity of the village.

Garda Cycle and Pedestrian Path
A suspended route between rock and lake, about 50 metres above the water. It offers one of the most striking panoramic experiences in the Alto Garda area.

Museum of Tourism
It tells the story of Limone’s transformation from an ancient village of fishermen and farmers into an international tourist destination loved throughout Europe.

Fishermen’s Museum
A space dedicated to lake life, fishing tools and local fishing traditions. It preserves the everyday memory of Limone’s close relationship with the lake.

Church of San Benedetto Abate
The parish church, dedicated to Limone’s patron saint, preserves works of art and testimonies of the historic devotion of the local community.

Church of San Rocco
A small panoramic church in an elevated position, offering an emotional view over the lake and the village. It is one of the most evocative corners of Limone.

Birthplace of Saint Daniel Comboni
The birthplace of the missionary from Limone, preserving memory, spirituality and testimonies linked to his life and to his deep bond with the village.

Church of San Pietro
An ancient little church surrounded by olive trees, with a quiet and intimate atmosphere. It is one of the most meaningful places of Limone’s religious memory.

Villa Boghi
An elegant historic building, now the Town Hall, surrounded by a well-kept park with citrus trees, olive trees and Mediterranean plants. A peaceful place in the heart of Limone.

Lake fish
Lavaret, trout, perch, pike and lake sardines are among the most authentic flavours of Garda, linked to the fishing tradition and to Limone’s simple local cuisine.

Extra virgin olive oil
Garda extra virgin olive oil reflects the landscape of Limone: olive trees, a mild climate and delicate flavours. The village also has a historic oil mill, still connected to local olive oil production.

Lemons
Lemons are the symbol of Limone’s historic lemon houses, grown on sunny terraces overlooking the lake. They express the village’s Mediterranean soul and centuries-old citrus tradition.

Limoncello
Limoncello is inspired by the scent of citrus fruits grown in Limone’s historic lemon houses, one of the strongest symbols of the village and its Mediterranean soul.

Limone sul Garda offers a rich calendar of cultural, musical, sporting and food-and-wine events throughout the tourist season.

Highlights include Limonaia sotto le stelle (Lemon House under the Stars), an evening in the Limonaia del Castèl with music and tastings

Suoni e Sapori nell’Uliveto (Sounds and Flavours in the Olive Grove), dedicated to local products, music and the atmosphere of the olive groves;

Arte nei vicoli (Art in the Alleyways), an open-air art exhibition in the historic centre; summer concerts on the lakefront and in panoramic locations; family shows
